NDSH – Jamestown, ND – Cook

The North Dakota State Hospital (NDSH), located in Jamestown, is a specialized psychiatric hospital that serves the whole state. Services focus on psychiatric rehabilitation, residential substance use disorders treatment, and residential treatment for sexually dangerous individuals.

As a Cook, you will prepare and distribute food in the Gobbler, the snack shop at the North Dakota State Hospital (NDSH), while supervising client workers assigned to cashier, cook, and clean.

Daily, you will prepare daily lunch specials to be sold to employees and clients of NDSH. You will also check and organize equipment and supplies needed for the smooth operation of the Gobbler. In addition, you will need to operate the cash register, credit card machine as well as close out the cash register and balance daily cash receipts. You can also expect to have some wonderful interactions with the great employees and clients at NDSH!

You will succeed in this position if you are punctual, self-driven and thrive working in a small department with co-workers that are always willing to help each other out.

To be considered for this position, you must have a high school diploma or GED and one year of similar food preparation experience.

Location:

ND DHHS utilizes a blended workplace model. Depending on the role, employees may work from home, onsite or both. This position is required to work onsite at the State Hospital in Jamestown, North Dakota.
