Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze business processing and operational issues which includes root cause analysis
  • Facilitate discussions with all involved business units to determine any required short-term mitigation efforts along with long-term prevention strategies
  • Evaluate overall functionality and effectiveness of systems used to ensure agency needs are met; recommend alternatives and solutions to users and management
  • Monitor workflows in the tax processing system (GenTax), using various system reports to identify aged work items, financial transaction errors, and staff training issues
  • Review procedures for compliance with statues and rules
  • Test procedures in the staging environments of the system to identify gaps and recommend revisions
  • Coordinate various organizational and functional unit processes to ensure alignment with process, policy, and automation
  • Participate on internal and external committees. Examples include, but are not limited to, the Individual and Business Income Tax Forms & Rules Committees and the Automated Systems Coordinators committee.
  • Knowledge of relevant state and federal laws and regulations, including procedures and policies
  • Collaborate with business managers and specialists in policy and operations to ensure automated functionality meets business requirements, implementation parameters, readiness plan components, and timelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of organizational/business analysis and evaluation (completion of upper division coursework in business or a related field and at least 2 years of professional-level evaluative, analytical, and planning work experience or a bachelor's degree in business or a related field and at least 1 year of work experience as previously described.)
  • Good knowledge of process improvement methodology. (completion of upper-division coursework in business or a related field and at least 2 years of work experience performing requirements discovery, process analysis, and preparation of reports and written documents or a bachelor's degree in business or a related field and at least 1 year of work experience as previously described.)
  • Good knowledge of project management (completion of upper division coursework for a degree in business or a related field and at least 2 years of work experience managing projects including determining scope, developing project goals, timelines, budget, implementation strategies, and measurement methods, monitoring progress toward goals and project completionor a bachelor's degree in business and a related field and at least 1 year of experience as previously described.)

Desirable Qualifications:

  • At least 6 months of work experience where change management was a primary responsibility of the job.
  • At least 1 year of work experience that included responsibility for planning and implementing a quality assurance program.
