The Position
Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
Administrative Aid works under the immediate supervision and direction of the Accountant Technician II. They will perform compilation and weekly deposits, compilation for accounts receivables, maintain logs for Xerox and printers for all staff, file, locate and retrieve information. Arrange materials for storage, disposal or preservation. They will be typing materials such as correspondence, reports, duplicate and distribute materials. They will maintain non-complex databases and spreadsheets, recording all data. Admin Aids enter data, review data and refer the incomplete/incorrect documents to higher level staff for resolutions, maintain production logs as required. They will be answering telephones, greet visitors, answer general questions, send requested materials, receive, date stamp, sort and deliver mail. Admin Aids require the ability to prioritize tasks, estimate time frames, meet deadlines, plan and use available resources and coordinate work assignments with others. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and six months of general clerical experience; OR six months of experience as a Clerical Trainee in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Special Requirements

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.

A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.
