Office Specialist II
Fire Marshal's Office
If you like to work independently and perform a wide variety of office tasks, then this may be the job for you! As a valued member of our team, you will provide office support at the Fire Marshal's office, located in Sandy, Utah.
Example of duties:
- Provide administrative support to the Fire Marshal's office
- Process a variety of agency confidential documents by reviewing for accuracy and completeness, updating information, and evaluating against policy.
- Answer phones and provides a high level of customer service
- Monitor email accounts
- Process mail and incoming faxes
- Plan, log and process information upon arrival
- Process credit card payments
- Log invoices
- Process orders
- Schedule conference rooms
- Provide assistance with office equipment (copier, shredder, phones, etc.)
- Maintain files or record keeping systems.
- Coordinate and process in-state travel documents
- Has professional customer service skills
- Has the ability to communicate effectively in both writing and verbally
- Has computer skills with Word, Excel, etc.
- Has the ability to work with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact and professionalism
- Has the ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner

- Must complete and pass a Level II background investigation which includes: extensive checks for criminal activity, illegal drug use and detailed employment, reference, credit, and education checks
- Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
