Office Specialist 2
As the Office Specialist 2 you will provide administrative support for the Klamath Lake District in all department programs. Some duties may include:
  • Perform payroll, purchasing and fire billing tasks.
  • Coordinate closely with other staff for support needs to assist with their responsibility to departmental objectives, agency missions and legal mandates.
  • Act as receptionist; provides visitors or phone callers with information and assistance.
  • Open, route and sort all incoming mail and ready outgoing mail for timely delivery.
  • Provide information to employees regarding insurance and retirement.
  • Review and enter purchase orders and contract release orders as necessary into the statewide computer system for payment .
  • Assist clients with Forest Practices Notifications/applications and process accordingly.
Here is what you need to Qualify:
Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents
OR
An associate degree in any field
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Note: Driver’s License Check - This position requires the operation of a state vehicle for the purpose of conducting official State business. If your license is from outside Oregon, you must submit at least a three-year court/DMV printout. If you have an Oregon driver’s license, a record check will be conducted on top candidate to ensure a valid license and acceptable driving record.
Desired Skills:
  • Skill in communicating orally and in writing with a variety of people answering questions and gathering and exchanging information.
  • Word processing, spreadsheet and database skills along with proficient use of personal computer and the ability to learn and use multiple software programs.
  • Requires accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to make decisions regarding office procedures, respond to the public and take action as necessary.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to effectivlely explain decisions verbally and/or in writing.
  • Ability to resolve problems diplomatically.
