THE POSITION

Are you an organized and analytical person looking for a legal position? If so, the Office of Chief Counsel, Department of Corrections is looking for a Legal Office Administrator 1 (LOA1) to provide management-level, administrative support to our office. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Legal Office Administrator 1, you will serve as the Disability Benefits Arbitration Docketing Coordinator. This includes, but is not limited to, preparing arbitration schedules, coordinating with other parties to schedule cases, preparing and sending notices, and reserving rooms and equipment. Additionally, this position provides litigation and general administrative support.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Hours of work negotiable within the office's business hours
  • Telework: You will have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Mechanicsburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Two years of varied office management or staff work within a public or private legal office.
Additional Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Experience handling and maintaining confidential information.
  • Experience answering phones and processing mail.
