Position Description
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for a full-time LECTURER position to begin August 2023. We seek outstanding scholar-teachers dedicated to excellence in the chemical and biochemical sciences. The department, an American Chemical Society (ACS)-approved program, has a strong and proven reputation for educating and training women of African-descent to excel in STEM fields. The successful applicant will have a doctorate in chemistry or a related area and prepared to teach courses at the undergraduate level in at least one or more of the traditional subdisciplinary areas of chemistry as identified by the ACS: Analytical, Biochemistry or Organic Chemistry. The position also requires contributing effectively to curriculum development efforts, advising and mentoring students, and providing service to the department. This is a one-year position renewable up to two additional years. Candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to working with women and underrepresented minority students through teaching, mentoring, and research are especially encouraged to apply.
