Locations: Lakewood, CO—Hybrid

Team members are given the opportunity to explore the energy industry from the unique perspective of advising the most influential participants in the market.
As an Energy Analyst, you will:
- Manage or materially support one of BTU’s products in addition to providing support for highly unique consulting projects.
- Learn the mechanics of the energy market and quantify the trends impacting the industry, i.e. within the oil and gas subindustries.
- Locate, gather, and analyze power data in a proficient and timely manner.
- Analyze large data sets, research market changes, and respond to client and internal inquiries on datasets.
- Communicate effectively with our clients to tie our conclusions back to their own commercial decisions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Petroleum Engineering, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, or a related field of study.
- 0-4 years of previous experience in an energy-related field.
- Experience with large datasets as well as modeling and/or mathematical and statistical analysis experience.
- Strong attention to detail, proactive nature, and ability to take ownership of tasks.
- Customer service skills, a “client-first” mentality, and a willingness to learn how our data and analyses are used by our clients.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, working independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to think critically in a high-pressured environment
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- SQL and/or Python experience, a plus.
- Financial or economic knowledge/experience, a plus.

The budgeted amount for this position in the state of Colorado is $60,000 - $80,000
