HIRING RANGE: $2,402-$3,202 Monthly

WORK SHIFT : Weekdays 8:30a-5:00p, and every other weekend (with one day off during the week)

  • Work schedule works very well with the school schedule and after school activities

Qualified candidates will be considered upon receipt of application. The position may be filled prior to the listed closing date after successful completion of the application and interview process.

As a Cook I , you will assist the team in preparing nutritious and attractive food in a sanitary manner, to meet individualized nutritional needs and preferences of the people living and working at LSTC. You will prepare regular and therapeutic menu items, including following standardized menus and recipes, measuring ingredients, chopping and modifying foods, lifting pans into and out of the oven, etc. You will learn and maintain a working knowledge of therapeutic diet and consistency change requirements, including orientation training, review of the Nutrition Diet Manual as well as attending in-service training. You will assure all foods are prepared and held within safe temperature ranges, including using thermometers, temperature documentation and heating and/or cooling further if necessary. You will maintain a working knowledge of and promote use of exact measuring and sanitation techniques, as well as preserving nutrient content as outlined in department, state, and federal policy & procedures in order to assure a safe, quality product is served.

To be considered for this position , you must have a high school diploma or GED. One year of similar food preparation and/or cooking experience is strongly desired.
