New Job Community Outreach Specialist In Kentucky

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Community Outreach Specialist to join our team at Family Scholar House. As a Community Outreach Specialist, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the community and the single-parents families and young adults we serve. Your role will involve building strong relationships within the community, representing Family Scholar House at events and connecting with individuals accessing FSH services.

Responsibilites

Community Outreach (60%): Serve as a representative of Family Scholar House in the community, fostering relationships and raising awareness about our organization. Provide compassionate case management services to pre-residential participants, including connecting them to government and private programs, facilitating access to essential benefits, and offering crisis intervention support. Offer guidance and support in academic and career choices, goal-setting, financial management, and family unity.

Resource Coordination (25%): Stay well-informed about community social service resources, including programs for food stamps, TANF, child support, subsidized housing, emergency financial assistance, utility bill aid, and counseling. Maintain knowledge of educational resources, such as admissions, financial aid, and registration processes at local institutions. Refer participants to these resources promptly to promote economic stability within families. Strengthen referral relationships with other social service organizations through presentations, tabling events, and informational sessions.

Record Keeping and Reporting (10%): Maintain accurate and up-to-date and case management records for all individuals and families you serve. Generate reports based on this information to share with Program leadership.

Miscellaneous Duties (5%): Undertake additional tasks as assigned to contribute to the overall success of Family Scholar House.

Position Requirements:

• Baccalaureate degree in Social Work, Humanities, Guidance and Counseling, College Personnel, Education, or a related field.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Comfort and familiarity with current and emerging technologies.
• Enjoy working in a face paced environment.
