Your Impact:


We are hiring a Traffic Incident Management Specialist in our Mid-Atlantic Geography to support our growing portfolio of Traffic Operations, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) and Traffic Safety services.

When you join us, you’ll assist in plans for operations during planned events, unplanned events, incidents and emergencies as well as development of risk assessments of terrorist threats and response.

Your expertise will be utilized through the review of Transportation Management Plans, Traffic Control Plans, and Transportation Operations Plans involving traffic closures, detour routes, evacuations, accidents and special situations. Additionally, you’ll support the development of After Action Reviews (AAR) for traffic incidents.

You’ll be responsible for training and outreach and will develop Traffic Incident Management (TIM) curriculum (and handbook) and conduct training for Incident Management.

As a key member of the team, we’ll look to you to prepare, administer, attend and facilitate TIM meeting and outreach activities. You’ll also prepare, administer and facilitate Unified Incident Command (UIC), TIM and Incident Command System (ICS) training for all emergency service providers and transportation agencies.

Additional responsibilities for this role will include:
  • Conducting tabletop exercises
  • Resource and Guideline development
  • Coordinating incident and emergency management related policies, guidelines and procedures with various emergency service providers and transportation agencies
  • ASP Services
  • Preparing, maintaining and implements operating guidelines for contracted emergency services and coordinates training
  • Investigates complaints and issues involving and related to the ASP program
  • Oversees and provides reports on the effectiveness of stand by towing and incentive towing programs

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a major or emphasis in Business Administration, Traffic/Transportation Management, Safety/Incident Management, Planning/Engineering and/or Communications/ Public Relations. Equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training may be accepted
  • Previous professional experience in traffic incident management, fire service, emergency medical services, vehicle towing and recovery, law enforcement or any equivalent combination of experience, education and training required
Ideally, you’ll also have:
  • Traffic Incident Management certification
  • Unified Incident Command certification
