We are seeking a Retirement Plan Auditor to join our high-performing and dedicated team.
As the Retirement Plan Auditor, you will be responsible for conducting quality review to ensure the reliability and integrity of the pension benefit payments and new accounts.
Starting Salary: $4,780 - $5,560/month depending on experience.
Summary of Work:
- Conduct quality review to ensure compliance with established objectives and goals for retirement programs administered by NDPERS.
- Independently analyze, review, and identify discrepancies with accounts of new and existing members that have applied for pension benefits.
- Advise on adjustments to pension payments.
- Analyze, verify, and validate member salaries, service credit, service purchases, and final average salary.
- Conduct review of new payee accounts to be processed for monthly pension payroll.
- Approve final benefit calculations and compute pension under or overpayments.
- Research findings regarding account discrepancies.
- Verify documentation and approve new payee or surviving spouse health, Medicare prescription drug, life, dental, and vision applications and all premium or tax deductions elections.
- Perform advanced calculations for benefit and payment approval and process death benefits.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and one year of related auditing, accounting, payroll, or benefit administration work experience. Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Location: NDPERS utilizes a hybrid workplace model. The position is based in our Bismarck, ND office. After completion of an initial, onsite training period, the successful candidate will have an option to telecommute remotely from home on a rotational basis. The successful candidate must reside within North Dakota.
