DEQ is looking for a Petroleum Tank Cleanup (PTC) Section Supervisor. The Petroleum Tank Cleanup Section oversees remediation of leaking underground storage tanks. This Section works with Brownfields, EPA, counties, business owners, The Petroleum Tank Cleanup Fund, and many other stakeholders. With input from the PTC team and management, the supervisor coordinates the day-to-day operations of the section and leads outreach to stakeholders. The supervisor must have excellent organization, communication and people skills. This is a fast paced, dynamic group that works to keep petroleum contamination from leaking underground storage tanks from affecting our communities and environment. We are looking for a supervisor with vision and enthusiasm who values being part of a dedicated team.

The Petroleum Tank Cleanup Section Supervisor position includes a career ladder for professional development and pay progression. This position may be eligible for occasional telework.


Minimum requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education.

  • Three years of progressively responsible experience including demonstrated leadership or supervision, may include experience from informal roles, and proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Preferred experience with business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, setting priorities, human resources management, leadership techniques, coordination of people and resources, and communication skills focused on stakeholder outreach.

Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
