Park & Racquet Club Associate Tech II
Pelham Racquet Club and Parks & Recreation Departments
The City of Pelham is currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Park & Racquet Club Associate
Tech II. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about tennis and takes pride in maintaining a top-notch facility.
As a Park & Racquet Club Associate Tech II, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the Pelham Racquet Club and surrounding
parks/city property remain in excellent condition, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for our members and guests.
Representative List of Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The list is not intended to be all-inclusive nor exclusive but is
intended to provide examples of typical duties performed.
Cuts lawns.
Trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls.
Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs.
Sprays lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides.
Rakes and bags or burns leaves.
Cleans grounds and removes litter.
Plants grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
Waters lawn and shrubs.
Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts.
Makes minor repairs on equipment such as lawnmowers, spreaders, and snow removal equipment.
Performs daily maintenance of 5 hard courts and grooms 20 clay tennis courts. Consists of sweeping and lining courts, replacing
divots, repairing low spots, removal of algae, repairing lines and irrigation heads, removing impurities from courts and drains, and
replacing and repairing coolers.
Assists with club tournament and event preparation (10-12 events are held per year and range from 3-8 days each). Duties
include hanging banners, preparing coolers, changing trash, maintaining the cleanliness of grounds and buildings, assisting
vendors in setting up, bringing supplies in, and ensuring courts are ready.
During tournaments/events, responsible for sweeping every court after every round throughout the event.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related landscape
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates and Licenses: Valid Alabama Driver’s License.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly

or crawl. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
Compensation: The compensation range for this position is $ 36,537 - $ 49,796. The pay rate offered will be determined based on
the applicant’s qualifications.
