Become part of our team now as a Competence Centre Director for Process Modelling in order to enable and accelerate sustainable, scalable and highly profitable growth for DI PA SW’s Process Modelling portfolio across a range of strategic process industry sectors including Energy, Chemicals, Pharma, Food & Beverage, Mining and Water & Wastewater. DI PA SW’s Process Modelling portfolio mainly encompasses the former gPROMS and SIMIT portfolios. For reference, the DI PA SW portfolio also includes offerings from the original CIS and DE-L businesses that have been brought together in the DI PA SW organisation that was established 1 January 2023.
Your new field of activity – challenging and future-oriented
- Responsibility for enabling and accelerating sustainable, scalable and highly profitable growth for the DI PA SW’s Process Modelling portfolio across a range of strategic process industry sectors.
- Progress will be measured in financial terms such as overall revenue growth, growth in percentage of revenue from software, growth in percentage of revenue from SaaS and profitability growth.
- Non-financial terms such as development of standardised product content and development of new standardised solutions and associated value propositions.
- Achieve the above by developing and executing a strategy that involves combining (i) in-depth technical understanding of the Process Modelling portfolio as a whole, (ii) technical understanding of other DI PA SW portfolio elements and (iii) interactions with the Industry Strategy Directors for the various other relevant Siemens offerings business knowledge of the strategic process industry sector strategic process industry sectors.
More specifically, key elements of Competence Centre Strategy are:
- Analysis to inform a sound strategy
- Identifying and keeping up to date Trends, Implications, Possibilities and Solutions (TIPS) for your technology area.
- Developing a good understanding of synergistic technology areas, including but not necessarily limited to those of other PA SW technologies.
- An assessment of the competitor and substitute landscape for your technology across PA SW’s strategic process industry sectors.
- Synthesising the strategy
- Taking into account input from Industry Strategy Area Directors, define standardised solutions and associated value propositions.
- Identify any required product content and product platform developments to enable creation of new standardised solutions and improve the performance of existing standardised solutions. This includes any development of interoperability between DI PA SW and other Siemens offerings
- Ensure a roadmap is created and maintained for development of new product content.
- Ensure close alignment with overall DI PA SW IS strategy.
- Executing the strategy
- Ensure qualified opportunities arising from Campaigns and customer interactions with respect to defined solutions receive the necessary technical support.
- Ensure scoping and execution of lighthouse projects aimed at developing standardised solutions and validating the value proposition for new use cases.
- Influence the Process Modelling roadmap in particular and the overall DI PA SW roadmap to ensure product platform development is aligned with market intelligence obtained by supporting individual customer interactions and through alliances.
- Work with other Competence Centre Directors to ensure the above from a synergistic perspective, viz use cases involving technologies from across the DI PA SW portfolio.
- Manage existing and set up new collaborations to support the strategy process outlined above.
- Work with other Competence Centre Directors to develop an incentive scheme for your team supports the overall targets of DI PA SW.
Building and maintaining key working relationships with:
- Your peers, via the Competence Centre Directors for the other product portfolio families within DI PA SW.
- The Industry Strategy Area Directors in DI PA SW to identify existing and promising new optimal spots for various strategic process industry sectors.
- Product management and portfolio management in DI PA SW to identify customer requirements and new software capabilities based on consolidated customer feedback and business case.
- The services colleagues in DI PA SW to define standardised, scalable services, and to identify emerging scalable offerings resulting from services delivered by the services team.
- Owners of other synergistic Siemens offerings including but not limited to those in DI SW and DI FA.
- General management responsibilities
- Enablement and motivation of managers: coaching of strategic business development skills.
- Based on many years of management experience in the software environment, optimization of internal processes in the horizontal team and sub-teams.
- Active support/moderation of strategic relationships with key customers at C-level.
- Establishment of a professional leadership culture and ensuring long-term development of talented employees at management and employee level.
- Budget management, team organization and all other tasks as a responsible manager.
Qualifications:
- Team-playing capacity as well as analytical, professional, proactive and intercultural skills
- You have very good knowledge in the conception, design, implementation and improvement of software-based solutions.
- Several years of proven experience in above mentioned conception, design, implementation and improvement of software-based solutions.
- Very good knowledge of your technology area as well as ideally appropriate contacts in commercial and academic R&D organisations.
- Very good social skills in building customer relationships as well as high social competence within internal matrix organizations.
- Efficient task and time management, high result, and quality orientation as well as experience and knowledge of strategic business development approaches.
- High customer orientation and ability to instil passion in the team as well as in the market, a strong power of persuasion, complemented by a high degree of creativity and combined with a proactive decision-making ability.
- Good command of the English language. Knowledge of additional languages are bonus.
- A willingness to travel on at least a monthly basis is key.
