This is a three-month, part-time role working about 20-25 hours a week. This position is located in the City County Building Complex at 555 S 10th Street Lincoln, NE 68508.
What does a "Day in the Life" look like?
Maintain calendars for the County Board and individual County Board members and other calendars as assigned and oversee the Commish email.
Assist in the preparation and public posting of the County Board weekly staff meeting agendas under the supervision of the Chief Administrative Officer.
Assist in the preparation and public posting of agendas, and scheduling and event planning as required, for various meetings including but not limited to the Pension Review Committee, Justice Council, City/County Common, meetings with other governing bodies or elected officials, and any other advisory committees created by the County Board members.
Complete and post minutes for various meetings under the supervision of the Chief Administrative Officer.
Order office and copier supplies, oversee and serve as the primary contact on issues relating to the maintenance of copiers, fax machines, computers, laptops, and other types of business equipment in the offices of the County Board.
Receive all visitors and telephone calls in a courteous and expeditious manner; answer questions or direct the inquirer to the appropriate office.
Sort and distribute mail to County Board and staff.
Perform research and gather documents and information as requested.
Record and transcribe meeting proceedings as required and directed by the County Board and Chief Administrative Officer for designated committee meetings and for the weekly County Board staff meetings (if necessary).
Reconcile P-card invoices as required.
Using the County’s records management software, Content Manager: enter all documents, including but not limited to County Attorney Opinion requests and opinions, into Content Manager; maintain all documents and records appropriately, including but not limited to deletion of documents when retention period is met.
Maintain confidentiality of records and information as required.
Assist with specific projects assigned to the Chief or Deputy Chief Administrative Officer by the County Board.
Perform general miscellaneous administrative duties as required on a day-to-day basis.

Graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by coursework in office management, business administration or related field plus two years of experience in performing administrative clerical and office management work in an office involving extensive public contact; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.
Employees must work a least 30 hours per week to be eligible for insurance benefits.
Vacation leave, sick leave, and holidays are prorated for part time employees based upon the hours worked per week.
Temporary, seasonal, and on-call employees are not eligible for benefits.
