Pennington Biomedical Research Center
, a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking an Administrative Director for LA CaTS.
The Administrative Director - LA CaTS (Louisiana Clinical & Translational Science Center) will oversee the administrative, financial, and human resources activities of LA CaTS. This position is responsible for serving as liaison and primary LA CaTS representative to both internal and external collaborators. The Administrative Director - LA CaTS will work with faculty, staff, and senior level executives at PBRC and partnering institutions to identify and creatively develop opportunities for LA CaTS involvement. Also, the position will be responsible for outreach to researchers and research groups and the development of long-term relationships that will sustain clinical and translational research initiatives across multiple institutions.
The Administrative Director - LA CaTS is responsible for the identification and development of all other LA CaTS related activities including but not limited to:

Overseeing and administering the creation of supporting materials for grant applications and NIH reporting.

Actively identifying, developing, and implementing new resources and initiatives in clinical and translational research that are accessible to PBRC, partnering institutions, and community members.

Approves overall LA CaTS communication plan, communication materials and content (private & public) as appropriate.

Creatively identifying and implementing future functions and initiatives of LA CaTS.

Directing all related projects and initiatives.

Approves new Standard Operating Procedures and center processes.

Leads center-wide meetings and discussions as needed for the PI.
Major Responsibilities
-
Executive administration, execution, and continued improvement of LA CaTS. Position has direct responsibility for day-to-day management of all aspects of LA CaTS, including administrative, financial, and human resources activities.

In collaboration with the PI, design, coordination, and implementation of new clinical research initiatives across institutions, including PBRC and other government, commercial and community organizations.

Lead, organize, implement, and manage all public and private materials related to the LA CaTS grant submission. Prepare grant proposals by soliciting content from appropriate contributors including sub awardees, manage/facilitate budget preparation, ensure timelines, financial guidelines, and sponsor requirements are met. Coordinate with the Biomedical Research Administration (BMRA) office regarding submission of all proposals and with the Research Protections Office (RPO) regarding animal and human subjects’ protocols.

Collaborate with T&E to draft all reports (Internal Advisory Committee, External Advisory Committee, NIH, etc) to submit to PI for edit and approval.
Required Qualifications and Experience
-
Master's Degree in health-related field or equivalent
-
4+ years of related professional experience
-
Significant experience in NIH grant and/or administrative research, grant writing, educational development, and budget management
-
Specific experience with IDeA grant or similar scope of award processes

Program management experience preferably with programs that included multiple partners outside the program organization or institute.

Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to develop relationships with University and outside stakeholders and effectively devise and implement collaborative initiatives

Demonstrated ability and flexibility to multi-task, prioritize multiple directives, and manage diverse job responsibilities.

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Excellent organizational and computer skills
