JOB DUTIES:
As a Workforce Consultant in our Sidney Job Service office, you will:
- Provide outcome-based, client specific services to a socio-economically diverse population and cultures, with skill levels ranging from seasoned professionals to those new to the workforce.
- Deliver specialized employment services and access to supportive programs for those experiencing severe barriers to employment.
- Build and maintain relationships with businesses, education, economic development and other community and area partners.
- Provide a broad array of customized services to businesses in such areas as worker recruitment & retention, employment law, economic trends and workforce solutions including human resource practices.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES:
If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have the following knowledge, skills or abilities:
Knowledge of (or ability to learn in a reasonable amount of time):
- Basic concepts of workforce development.
- Knowledge of social service agencies and community resources throughout our service area.
- De-escalation skills.
- Mediation skills.
Skill in:
- Using modern laptop or desktop computers and relatively modern software to perform timely and accurate data entry, produce written correspondence as well as the ability to store and access digital files using the same.
- Solution-based, problem-solving.
- Time-management and taking initiative.
- Detail-oriented organization and multi-tasking.
- Effective oral and written communication and ability to interview others to obtain information and insight.
- Assisting others who are struggling personally or professionally to access assistance and helping others identify and achieve their goals.
Ability to:
- Ability to interact positively, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, partners and co-workers who possess varied personalities and come from various socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
- Pursue client and business outcomes with energy and enthusiasm while applying and adhering to laws, rules, and procedures.
- Adapt quickly and effectively to a regularly changing environment.
- Provide positive, outstanding customer service while maintaining confidentiality.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Your preparation for this opportunity could include a combination of relevant experiences including:
- a degree in a field such as human services, social work, education, health services, marketing, business, and 2 years of related experience
OR
- 6 years of relevant experience that has preparing you for this opportunity.
Or
- Any combination of equivalent experience and education to successfully perform the essential functions of the position will be considered.
