The
Flight Data and Safety Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, management, and continuous improvement the company’s Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) Program and Aircraft Safety Action Program (ASAP) in accordance with FAA and ICAO guidelines. This position monitors safety issues, provides safety education, investigates incidents/accidents, and provides support to employees to ensure compliance. This position reports to the Director of Safety.

- Manage the companies Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) and Aircraft Safety Action Program (ASAP) Programs
- Review all incident submittals from all sources for root cause in advance of the Event Review Committee Meeting
- Maintains the company Safety Management Program (Centrik) as far as safety, risk assessment is concerned
- Creates Executive Summaries of all ASAP incidents
- Assist the Director of Safety with trend analysis safety review committee meetings
- Liaise with our FOQA provider to add new aircraft are required to join the program and send request support tickets
- Active participation in monthly and quarterly FAA Meetings
- Check and amend the event specification as required for each aircraft type
- Identify flights in the FOQA program through FOS
- Inform Maintenance when exceedances have been detected
- Check the data reports from the FDR’s bi-annual FDR checks
- End to end management of the company’s Flight Operations Quality Assurance Program including but not limited to: Review and analysis of all FOQA events for safety issues, reporting and data management, preparation of safety briefings, and training
- Management of the ASAP Program including but not limited to: Reporting and data management, supporting and educating crew, preparation of safety briefings, and event liaison
- Assist in the Records Department as needed
- Assist with additional duties as assigned by the Director of Safety
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or five years minimum related experience
- Must have aviation experience
- Have experience of FOQA programs
- Have knowledge of Flight Data Recording Systems including being able understand flight data
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the ASAP program, SMS, and ERP
- Proficiency with all MS Suite tools, including Excel and PowerPoint, including the ability to produce required reports, statistical charts, and PowerPoint presentations
- Excellent skills, both orally and in writing, in the English language
- Ability to present clear and concise information to management, crews, and the FAA
- Ability to develop, evaluate and upgrade our safety programs
- Knowledge of both the FAA and ICAO FOQA requirements
- Knowledge of both the FAA and ICAO FDR requirements
- Auditing experience preferred
- Proficient in business management procedures
