Introduction


Your role is to help achieve the agency goal of enabling DOR to operate efficiently and effectively with technology. Your skills will help manage users and device configurations and security controls. You will be leading, communicating and coordinating extensively with a wide variety of DOR employees.

Service Desk Technicians are responsible for providing initial IT support using an agency-wide standardized approach. This position leads Service Desk Technicians, provides technical support, and communicates agency wide messages and changes.

The Department of Revenue uses the latest IT tools and software to manage and support department computer systems including systems such as Cherwell, Active Directory, Cayosoft, Office 365, Teams, Microsoft Enterprise Configuration Manager, AirWatch/Workspace One, Crowdstrike, Bitlocker, Zscaler, Windows 10/11 Enterprise Workstations

Remote/Telework up to 60%. Salary Information


Salary for this IS Technical Services Specialist position (schedule-range 07-33) is $66,560 to $87,360 annually ($32.00 to $42.00 hourly), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. Current state employees pay will be based on the provisions in the Compensation Plan. A twelve-month probationary period is required.

Job Details


The Department of Revenue will conduct criminal background, tax compliance checks and fingerprint checks on candidates prior to offer of hire. Interview results may be reused in accordance with the State of WI interview reuse policy.

Qualifications


Minimum-qualified candidates will have experience in each of the following:

  • Providing IT support to internal or external customers.
  • Creating or updating technical IT documentation and communications.
  • IT lead worker, project lead or as someone who has trained or reviewed others work.

Well-qualified candidates will have experience in a minimum of one (1) the following (in addition to the minimum qualifications):

  • Experience using endpoint technologies to manage, patch, and secure multiple computers and mobile devices (e.g., Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, VMware Workspace One\Airwatch, Microsoft Active Directory, Bitlocker, User State Migration Tool, Encryption Software, Asset Management\Ticketing Systems, etc.).
  • Research and analysis experience providing information on IT services and metrics.
