Job Overview
Approximately 100 miles southeast of Fairbanks, Fort Greely provides a truly one-of-a-kind experience to work, live, and play in a scenic Alaskan location with endless opportunities. At Fort Greely, Wolf Creek Federal Services, Inc. (WCFSI) provides support for the Missile Defense Command, with a primary focus on maintenance and repair.
Work and live in a unique remote location surrounded by wildlife and breathtaking scenery. Enjoy year-round outdoor adventure including hiking, fishing, dog sledding, and aurora watching. Fort Greely is conveniently located nearby Alaska’s two largest cities: Anchorage and Fairbanks. These locations provide many big city amenities including shopping, dining, and nightlife.
The Secure Access Attendant facilitates escorted access into and out of government restricted areas. Members ensure personnel are appropriately credentialed in accordance with established security requirements. Secure Access Attendant actively monitor escorted personnel and vehicles exiting the restricted area to prevent theft of government or contractor property, identify contraband, and/or prevent deviations, breaches, and violations of establish security standards, practices, or posture.
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Enforce regulations and procedures designed to prevent breaches of security.
- Exercises judgment and uses discretion in responding to incidents and emergencies, determining whether to intervene directly, ask for assistance as time permits, keep situation under control or surveillance, or to report incident or situation to the appropriate authority for handling.
- Monitors escorted personnel and premises to prevent theft, contraband and/or infractions of rules.
- Execute appropriate reporting of emergency conditions and/or breaches of security.
- Implements appropriate emergency security procedures during contingency operations such as natural disasters, increased terrorist threat activity, bomb threats, exercises, etc.
- Maintains information and operations security protocols.
- Participate in Fire Drills and other security-associated tasks.
- Ensures all entries and exits to protected areas are verified.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Mandatory Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Final Secret-level security clearance.
- Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
