Doral Academy of IdahoPrincipal Job DescriptionDoral Academy of Idaho is a public charter school located in Meridian, Idaho, serving students in grades K-8. Principal applicants will be expected to provide the leadership and management necessary to administer and implement all programs, activities, and policies essential to ensure high quality educational experiences and services for all students in a safe, nurturing and enriching environment. As a school with an arts integration focus, it is beneficial that the applicant is familiar with best practices in teaching methods of integrating the arts into daily instruction.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSAn earned Masters Degree (or higher) from an Accredited College or University.Hold or be able to obtain an Idaho Administration/Principal CertificationREQUIRED EXPERIENCE1.Have previously demonstrated a minimum of five (5) years of successful licensed teaching experience in an accredited K-12 public or private setting. 2.Have previously demonstrated a minimum of one (1) year experience as a licensed administrator in an accredited K-12 public or private setting.
(Site-based administrative experience is strongly preferred). 3.Successful performance in the position held at the time of application.4.Have a proven track record of positively impacting student achievement. 5.Demonstrate familiarity/training in the Charlotte Danielson teacher evaluation system.6.Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of effective discipline strategies and motivation, curriculum, development and program evaluation, child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning. 7.Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and the ability to motivate people.
8.Have strong communication skills, with the capacity to connect strongly with the school community. 9.Have an entrepreneurial, flexible, spirit that can celebrate success and respond positively to adversity. Contract Year: TWELVE (12) MONTHS
