The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a Manager for the Grateful Patient program to join the Heersink School of Medicine development office. The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee a comprehensive grateful patient program that will generate increased private gift support. This includes operationalizing a program that builds a pipeline of grateful patient prospects, engages clinicians, administrators, and others in the grateful patient process. The manager will be responsible as the Heersink School of Medicine liaison with Advancement’s data security and privacy representatives.
This position reports directly to the Assistant Vice President for Development within the Heersink School of Medicine. The Manager must be able to function as an integral part of a team to facilitate a successful grateful patient program. To be successful in this position, you must have a positive attitude and excellent networking skills. You must be a problem solver, be efficient, be able to maintain the highest standard of confidentiality and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
- Manage Grateful Patient, Assistant Manager.
- Assist with policy and procedure development for UAB Health System, Heersink School of Medicine and UAB.
- Coordinate very closely with Advancement Services’ Prospect Research and Management team in maintaining shared metric definitions and processes.
- Establish relationships and maintain communications with appropriate medical staff to identify potential major donors. Assist with development and providing training for physicians and associates on Grateful Patient development.
- Assist with annual Employee Giving Campaign by collaborating with HSOM and UAB Health System Leadership to identify philanthropic designations annually.
Annual Salary Range: $57,940 - $70,000
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, or a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Advancement, grateful patient and/or healthcare experience preferable.
Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Position is full-time, hybrid eligible.
