DATCP currently has an opening for an IS Business Analyst position within the Division of Management Services. This position is located at the Prairie Oaks State Office Building situated on Madison’s southeast side and nestled atop a beautifully wooded and scenic hilltop venue. Our employees enjoy ample, low-cost parking at the facility. We are only minutes away from the Beltline Highway, Interstate 90 and Highway 51 for quick access to local restaurants, retail and service locations.
Telecommuting Option: This position may have the ability to telecommute up to 6 days per 2-week pay period! An approved telecommuting agreement is required before an employee may telecommute. Approval of the employee’s telecommuting agreement and work schedule will vary based on the operational needs of the Division. All DATCP employees who telecommute are required to live in Wisconsin.

Position Summary
The position is responsible for the analysis, documentation and participation in the implementation of information technology solutions in support of the business functions of the Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP). This position works directly with management and staff to identify and define business needs for IT projects and major enhancement efforts through all phases of the development lifecycle. Project efforts may be large and complex requiring distinct multi-phase development efforts and/or multi-contract projects with possibly concurrent development efforts.
This position provides analysis for new and existing business partner applications, including the provision of expert advice to division personnel and assistance to other technical staff in the work unit. The incumbent will work collaboratively with both technical and business project team members to resolve issues in a timely manner to ensure the project remains on schedule.

Salary Information
The classification of this position is IS Systems Development Services Specialist which is in pay schedule/range 07-33. The starting salary for this position will be $37.00 to $45.00 per hour ($76,960 to $93,600 annually) based on qualifications. The bargaining unit of this position is non-represented. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.
Job Details
DATCP does not sponsor work visas. Any appointment made will be contingent on the selected applicant being able to provide documentation of eligibility to work in the United States.
A criminal background check will be performed on the selected applicant prior to an offer of employment.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified candidates must have each of the following:
- Experience conducting analysis sessions with business partners to accurately define business and/or technical requirements for new projects or major enhancements to existing systems
- Experience compiling required project documentation (business requirements, functional specification, data mapping, etc.)
- Experience providing support/guidance to both customers and IT teams
In addition, highly qualified candidates will also have one or more of following:
- Experience testing software
- Experience developing and conducting training
