Required Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience: eight years. Requires a minimum of 3-5 years relevant professional experience. Work in international relief and development, required. Proven experience effectively managing large projects and successful resolution of implementation challenges. Sector knowledge and/or field experience in one or more of the following areas of: Maternal, newborn, and Child Health, Health Systems Strengthening, Malaria, Social Behavior Change, WASH, Digital Health

Travel: Up to 25% of time both in development and fragile contexts.

Salary Range: $73,500 - $115,000. Please note the typical hiring range is $77,500 - $94,000 annually. Job offers within the range are based on relevant job qualifications and pay equity. This range applies to locations with a market similar to our Washington D.C. office. A different range may apply based on your work location.


The Job:

World Vision is looking for a Program Manager who will contribute to the International Programs Group's (IPG) program quality and reporting goals through the management of private and public health grants. This person will oversee project implementation for the assigned portfolio and provide monitoring and evaluation of the assigned portfolio to ensure financial and legal compliance. She/He will demonstrate a mutual understanding of both donor and field-facing requirements, providing product management, and project support to enable fundraisers to deliver on the donor promise. She/He will ensure compliance to donor standards, develop tools, and provide capacity building for the projects in the assigned portfolio.


Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, devotions, chapel, prayer, worship); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.
  • Program Management
  • Lead/facilitate start up workshops for new public and private projects assigned.
  • Monitor implementation (scope/timeline) and monitor the program budget and spending rate in conjunction with finance.
  • Ensure that an appropriate monitoring and evaluation system is set up (including reporting templates) and processes for developing detailed implementation plan is completed.
  • Ensure that projects are managed effectively through appropriate, timely and detailed communication with appropriate internal teams and relevant stakeholders regarding major issues and successes related to the project. Coordinate with appropriate staff and leadership to encourage and facilitate the documentation of promising practices and lessons learned.
  • Showcase projects and data collected through internal and external fora as relevant.
  • Manage the Monthly and Semi-Annual reporting process for the assigned projects.
  • Ensure project data and deliverables are routinely updated in the Salesforce database.
  • Conduct appropriate and useful field monitoring and capacity building visits to assist the office, ensuring communication and coordination with appropriate staff members.
  • Lead close-out process (includes final reports, evaluations and lessons learned). Ensure that evaluation outcomes and lessons learned are shared with and disseminated to all appropriate stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with program team both at headquarters and international field offices.
  • Network with sector leaders internally and externally, to strengthen World Vision's industry position, stay current with the sector evidence base, and to connect field projects with sector resources such as university researchers.
  • Ensure regular, positive, and productive communication with respective private and public donor representatives, the field office, and partners regarding the implementation of program activities.
  • Contribute to sector business plans and strategy.
  • Maintain awareness of corporate goals, objectives, organizational announcements, and activities. Reference and follow organizational policies and procedures, seeking clarity as needed.

Private Fundraising Knowledge & Application: Demonstrates understanding of marketing trends, principles, and fundraising products and channels. Applies field program knowledge to support fundraising reporting. Assist in assessing fundability of programs.

Language Proficiency: The ability to speak, understand and write fluently in English. (French and/or Spanish helpful but not required)


Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (eight years). In addition to education or education equivalent, requires a minimum of 3-5 years relevant professional experience. Work in international relief and development preferred. Direct experience in grant management required. Proven experience effectively managing large projects/grants and successful resolution of implementation challenges. Demonstrated ability to facilitate multi-stakeholder engagement. Broad sector knowledge and/or field experience in one or more of the following areas of: Monitoring and Evaluation; HIV-AIDS; TB; Malaria; Health Systems Strengthening. Strong skills with Microsoft Office Suite.


Additional Skills We Are Interested In:

French and/or Spanish Proficiency helpful but not required.

Experience in Salesforce or other Program Management Information Systems is beneficial.


Salary Range & Benefits:

  • WVUS Pay Grade Level: 225
  • The full range for this position is $73,500 - $115,000.
