Shiftwork: Some positions require rotating shift work, including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified applicants to fill the current vacancies and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.
As a condition of employment with the State of Hawaii some positions may require that all qualified external candidates who have been given a conditional offer of employment to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination and shall be fully vaccinated by his/her/their employment start date. Perform a variety of semi-skilled manual work tasks involved in road, building, and other maintenance projects, or refuse collection work involving continuous heavy physical labor as a major work assignment; and perform other related duties as assigned.
To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:
Experience and Training: ONE (1) YEAR of manual unskilled and/or semi-skilled work experience in general construction and/or maintenance; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Driver's License: Some positions require possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment. The immediate vacancies have this requirement.
Lift and Carry: Some positions require the ability to lift and carry objects of various weights with or without reasonable accommodation.
Special Requirement: Some positions require a Forklift Certification and/or an electric stock picker within 6 months from the date of hire.
