Join our Investment Analysis team in New York
The D. E. Shaw group seeks a talented analyst to join its Fundamental Equities (FE) group as an integral member of one of our sector-focused teams. FE offers a collegial working environment and the chance to collaborate with an innovative, collaborative, and inclusive team.

What you’ll do day-to-day

You’ll be responsible for conducting fundamental due diligence on existing and potential investments, which will entail detailed financial modeling, extensive industry expert consultations, and utilization of alternative data sources. You’ll collaborate with other team members and external sources to cultivate expertise in various industrials subsectors. Over time, you’ll also be expected to help with idea generation.

Who we’re looking for
  • Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or higher, a record of academic and professional achievement, and two to four years of relevant experience at an investment bank, private equity firm, and/or alternative or traditional asset manager.
  • A passion for investing is essential, as is a demonstrated aptitude for financial modeling and analysis.
  • Well-developed communication skills are required.
  • The expected annual base salary for this position is $200,000 to $250,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401k contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
