Foreshore Team Leader

  • Permanent, Full Time (76hr fortnight)
  • Up to $73,456.03 p.a. total salary package ($65,420.04 – $66,476.05 + super)*

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as our next Foreshore Team Lead. In this role you will put to use your qualifications and expertise in Environmental Maintenance to maintain, protect, and enhance our City’s natural areas.

As our Foreshore Team Lead, you will be responsible for undertaking a range of tasks in and around the City of Melville’s natural areas, such as…

  • Providing supervision, training and leadership to the environmental maintenance team and contractors.
  • Providing natural area restoration, including planting, revegetation, seed collection, weed control, vermin control, fence maintenance and litter removal.
  • Implementing minor foreshore erosion control works.
  • Responsible for the correct use and minor maintenance of equipment.
  • Providing support and advice to community groups and residents working in natural areas.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Experience as a supervisor or team lead in a Parks or Environmental Maintenance position.
  • Sound experience in foreshore restoration and rehabilitation.
  • Sound experience in plant and weed identification.
  • Sound experience in bushland regeneration and maintenance.
  • Experience in weed control methods in bushlands/wetlands.
  • Knowledge of native seed collection.
  • Knowledge of Environmental Legislation and Occupational Health and Safety Standards.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV of Conservation & Ecosystem Management or equivalent.
  • Current ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence.
  • White Card.
  • Chainsaw Operation/Tree Felling Qualifications.
