GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Wyoming Department of Corrections contributes to public safety by exercising reasonable, safe, secure, and humane management while actively providing offenders opportunities to become law-abiding citizens.
The Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution (WMCI) is specifically designed to serve as the main intake and assessment center for male inmates. It serves as a primary education and treatment center for inmates identified as requiring high levels of protective custody and medical, mental health, dental, substance abuse, life skills, cognitive/behavioral, and/or sex offender treatment services.
The Program Facilitator is responsible to coordinate and facilitate mandatory inmate reentry programming. This position monitors inmate sentence structure to ensure compliance with mandatory pre-release programming. This position assists the education staff with the coordination of outside presenters to benefit the inmate population, as well as the administration of HiSet testing. This position is responsible for the coordination of the facility volunteer program and provides assistance to the Religious Coordinator in tracking inmate religious activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.
- Completes required education, case management, facility, and departmental training.
- Organizes conducts, and facilitates mandatory programs and mandatory pre-release programs.
- Collaborates with education and case management staff for the management of inmates and compliance with the case plan and/or parole board-recommended programming.
- Data entry to ensure appropriate documentation of programming and progress toward case plan goals.
- Collaboration with community providers to arrange beneficial presentations and contacts to enhance offender reentry. This may include contacts with local colleges, TRIO, etc.
- Administers HiSet testing for inmates, as well as provides supervision during mandatory testing.
- Coordinates the facility volunteer program, including scheduling and facilitation of volunteer training, recording-keeping/data entry regarding volunteer approvals, denials, and training, and all other policy-required tasks.
- Document and track the Inmate Faith Declaration process within policy guidelines
- Provide supervision for inmate religious activities in the absence of the religious coordinator.
PREFERENCES:
Preference may be given to those with 2-4 years of progressive work experience in Education and/or instruction.
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of the basic principles of Education, psychology, human development, and counseling techniques.- Knowledge of federal and state job training.
- Knowledge of mainframe and personal computer systems.
- Knowledge of Wyoming State Statutes.
- Knowledge of teaching, training, research, making presentations, testing, and other instructional methods.
