The City of Peoria’s Police Department is looking for an individual for the position of Crime Analyst. The Crime Analyst position is an exempt, civilian position within the Police Department and performs the following tasks:
Posting Closes Sunday, May 28th
Select applicants will be contacted to complete a Supplemental Narrative Questionnaire.
Supplemental Narrative Questionnaire – Week of June 5th
Applicants will have approximately one week to complete and return the questionnaire electronically.
All prospective employees will need to successfully complete a background investigation to include a personal history, polygraph and drug screen. If selected to begin a background investigation, candidates will be notified after the Oral Board and Practical Exam.
Oral Board and Practical Exam – Week of June 19th
Applicants selected after completing the Supplemental Narrative Questionnaire will be scheduled for an Oral Board and Practical Exam during the week of June 19th.
Background Investigations - TBD
Applicants moving into background investigations will be contacted on a one-on-one basis to start the background investigation.

Experience: Minimum of three years related experience. Requires a working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment and procedures.
Licenses/Certifications/Special Requirements: Valid AZ Driver’s License upon hire. Must obtain ACJIS Terminal Operator Certification Level B within six months of hire or promotion, and maintain certification throughout the course of this assignment

The City of Peoria’s Police Department is looking for an individual for the position of Crime Analyst. The Crime Analyst position is an exempt, civilian position within the Police Department and performs the following tasks:
- Reviews daily crime activity and reports to identify correlations, series, patterns and trends
- Conducts research on criminal activity, criminals or suspects to assist investigations
- Collects, analyzes, interprets and integrates various quantitative and qualitative data (calls for service, incidents, productivity, geographic, community, etc.)
- Performs complex statistical and analytical research, develops related reports and materials
- Performs recurrent statistical reports as well as emergent requests
- Effectively communicates with all levels of agency

- Has diverse experience in crime and intelligence analysis
- Has adaptability to frequently change tasks, balance multiple priorities and maintain clear communication are critical skills.
- Is able to effectively manage time and resources to accomplish goals and objectives and is eager to advance the Department
- Is able to balance working independently with collaborating as a unit and has demonstrated experience building positive relationships
- Has advanced computer proficiency and skill in MS Excel are strongly desired
- Has a passion for law enforcement and making a positive impact on the community, as well as a commitment to teamwork and delivering excellent customer service
