As a member of UNE’s Admissions Marketing and Operations (AMO) team, the Coordinator of Marketing and Design creates content for a primarily undergraduate prospective student (Gen Z) audience. This position requires excellent graphic design and visual communication skills.
The Coordinator of Marketing and Design is a key contributor to the marketing and recruitment efforts of University Admissions. The AMO team seeks an energetic, enthusiastic team member who is a skilled communicator and collaborator, has strong organizational and time management skills, and enjoys the challenge of contributing to a wide range of projects that support the recruitment of new students to UNE.

Responsibilities
- Act as design lead on several strategic marketing campaigns for print, digital, web, and social media. This may include designing print materials such as direct mail and promotional materials, event signage and swag; designing email, web, and social media graphics; illustration; editing photos and short-form videos; producing slide decks and presentations; and additional design projects as needed.
- Manage the creative process for key marketing projects from beginning concept to implementation.
- Research and advise the marketing team on target audience behaviors and trends in higher education.
- Direct on-site photo and video shoots.
- Elevate the visual identity presented to prospective audiences while adhering to the University’s brand guidelines.
- Assist with edits to the Admissions website, CRM, and social media platforms
- Create visual presentations for the VP of University Admissions and Senior Director of AMO.
- Maintain relationships with external vendors and partners as needed.
- Collaborate with University offices and academic departments to ensure marketing alignment with recruitment goals and UNE’s strategic plan.
- Maintain AMO’s online library of visual assets.
- Perform additional duties within AMO team as needed, including work and events outside or normal office hours.
Qualifications
This is an intermediate level position that requires more experience than an entry level position. It is a good fit for someone with excellent design skills who is ready to gain marketing experience. The position includes independent work within a collaborative team and offers exceptional opportunities to advance existing skills.
- 2-4 years of experience in design, marketing or similar experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marking, communications or related area.
- Excellent graphic design skills and technical proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, especially in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier Pro.
- Strong technical skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and online marketing systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage own project workload, both independently and as part of the AMO team.
- Ability to support admissions strategic marketing planning, and demonstrate curiosity for learning, developing and then applying new knowledge.
- Strong relationship building skills, ability to develop strong cross functional working relationships within University Admissions and the UNE community.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Additional creative and technical skills are helpful: web design, animation, illustration, copywriting, photography, and video.
