Intermediate District 287 is looking for qualified candidates for a Communications Specialist in Plymouth, MN!
Join an innovative and driven team working to make a difference in student outcomes in one of the most unique school districts in Minnesota. District 287 is looking to add a skilled and creative team member to work alongside the Director of Communications and Public Relations and other district leaders to implement communications plans and manage day to day communication needs with an equity lens. Position Details:
Working under the direction of the Director of Communications and Public Relations, Communications Specialist will assist with managing internal and external communications for the District. The position will write and produce content that will message to staff and students and broader District-wide communication, and coordinate the production; manage social media postings and other website content for broader district-wide communications.

Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, or related field preferred)
- At least three years of communications experience in a complex private, public or non-profit organization; School environment preferred.
- Advanced knowledge and experience in Adobe Creative Suite products including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator as well as online graphic design products such as Canva and Piktochart.
- Experience with and expertise in written and online publications.
- Proficient in the use of current technology required for the performance of duties, including photography, videography, desktop publishing, publication/print software, website content management systems: WordPress/FinalSite and social media.
- Substitution Allowed: Bachelor’s Degree and (2) years professional level experience in the areas listed above may be substituted for the general education and experience.
