HybridCollins Aerospace (Connected Aviation Solutions) is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support its initiatives of building the infrastructure and services for the next generation of passenger processing, airport operations and baggage management systems. The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining cloud-based systems that support multiple CAS Airports products including airline agent-assisted check-in, self-service check-in, passenger verification and security, biometric identity management, and baggage messaging systems.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Design, build, maintain, and optimize CAS Airports cloud computing environments (AWS).
Responsible for creating and maintaining infrastructure-as-code using scripting languages like CloudFormation, PowerShell, and Terraform.
Create and maintain documentation for new and existing cloud processes and deployments.
Work with CAS Cybersecurity initiatives as it pertains to Airports in ensuring our environments meet and exceed Cybersecurity standards.
Work closely with fellow Cloud Architects and Cloud Engineers to develop proof-of-concepts and cloud deployments for CAS Airports products.
Work closely with development, QA, and Service & Support with various DevSecOps components of the infrastructure necessary to support the cloud infrastructure.
Ensure relevant systems obtain the yearly PCIDSS AOC compliance for AWS cloud deployments by providing the evidence to our QSA provider.
Provide 3rd level engineering support for CAS Airport products in the cloud and work closely with Service & Support.
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
Experience in planning and designing cloud infrastructure in AWS.
Experience in system administration (Windows/Linux)
Desired Requirements:
AWS Certification, i.e. AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS SysOps Administrator, or higher is a plus.
Knowledge of various cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS).
Prior knowledge and experience in platform and infrastructure administration.
Knowledge and or experience with serverless technologies and container technologies.
Knowledge of DevSecOps and CI/CD principals and technology.
Strong technical understanding of existing platform and airport products is a plus.
Understanding of cloud-aware and cloud-native architectures.
Understanding of public, private and hybrid cloud provisioning.
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Experience with scripting, automation, and orchestration tools.
Experience in implementing Service Oriented Architecture based applications.
Experience in web-based, client-server-based application architecture.
