Benefit Programs Specialist
Starting Salary Range: $41,808
The City of Fredericksburg Department of Social Services is recruiting for the position of Benefit Programs Specialist.
Under general supervision, this position performs entry-level technical, administrative, counseling and case management duties for an assigned caseload of clients served by the City Social Services Department. Duties include interviewing applicants to determine eligibility for assistance and explaining benefit programs; assisting applicants in completing necessary forms; advising applicants of eligibility for assistance; and providing information on resources in the area. Employees also verify that information received from applicants is correct and complete; detect cases of fraud and report them; maintain a variety of records and files pertaining to assigned cases and prepare various required reports.
