The Assistant Technical Editor/Document Coordinator reviews, edits, and formats technical documents and prepares these documents for submittal to clients and regulatory agencies.
- Edit documents for grammatical accuracy, clarity, and consistency in accordance with company and client-specific guidelines.
- Format documents using Microsoft Word templates and Excel spreadsheets.
- Check text, figures, tables, and appendices for consistency of information. Perform fact checking. Compile and check reference lists.
- Ensure that documents meet client specifications and that deadlines are met.
- Balance competing priorities.
- Coordinate technical reviews. Clarify changes, additions, and corrections, and ensure revisions are incorporated into the final document.
- Manage the production process, including file management and version control, preparing PDFs with bookmarks, assembling and reviewing electronic and/or printed copies, and coordinating submittal to clients and regulatory agencies.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in technical editing (experience within the Architecture/Engineering/Construction [AEC] industry preferred).
- Excellent command of English grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and style.
- Exceptional organizational, editorial, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate successfully with project teams.
- Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet frequent deadlines.
- Commitment to quality and process improvement.
- Skilled in Microsoft Word (including working with and creating Word templates), Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
This position offers a full-time schedule Monday- Friday with a hybrid role between office and work from home opportunities.
