Duties Summary

The position is located in the Agribusiness Development Corporation (ADC) agency. ADC develops, initiates, and implements programs to assist Hawaii agriculture shift from a dual crop (sugar and pineapple) industry to a multi-crop and animal industry.

This position is responsible to provide administrative support services to the ADC Board and Executive D1rector; be knowledgeable in state budget and financial procedures; participate in and coordinate program planning and evaluation; and conduct special studies of operational and administrat1ve problems.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Knowledge: Applicable State administrative rules. regulations. policies and procedures; report writing; State government organization and functions; budget preparation and fiscal operations; personnel administration; principles and practices of management and organization; and computer programs.

Skills/Abilities: Use a personal computer to perform financial analysis and effectively communicate in writing and in face-ta-face meetings during presentations and recommendations to ADC staff and others on the status of programs and their funding, sources of funds, the availability of data relating to projects, and the community that will work with ADC on these programs.


Education: Graduation from an accredited university with a major in economics, business, or public administration, civil engineering, or public planning; a minimum of two years business experience is required with emphasis on management, finance, and marketing; or any equivalent combination of experience or training. Experience should include evaluation of technical proposals and business plans for start-up or expanding companies.

General Experience: ADC goals, objectives, and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to studies assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of ADC personnel and others in supporting day-to-day operations of the Corporation.
