Full Description
Serves as the Administrative Assistant in the District 4 Engineering Office under the supervision of the District Traffic Engineer. Plans, organizes, and performs administrative duties of a professional and complex nature at the executive level within the office. Researches, processes and prepares correspondence and reports expeditiously in a concise and professional manner for District 4 Traffic Engineering including Traffic, Incident Responders, Traffic Signal Shop and District 4 Permits. Types from handwritten copies or verbal directives. Assists with maintaining files system of correspondence, reports and other documents. Processes Parade and Road Closure letters. Also serves as a backup for other administrative staff in their absence or when necessary. Handles procurement for District 4 Signal Shop and District 4 Incident Responders (SHEP) using the SCEIS Procurement Program. Secures supplies and services through Bid process for any necessary equipment and/or services. Processes payment for invoices as necessary. Ensures that all procurement policies and procedures are followed. Assists other offices with procurement as necessary. Acts as the Time Administrator using SCEIS and HMMS programs to process payroll for employees under the supervision of District Four Traffic Engineers, including the District 4 Incident Responder Teams in York and Cherokee Counties and District Four Signal Shop. Serves as backup time administrator for other offices as necessary. Serves as Procurement Credit Card Holder, Serves as Credit Card Liaison for multiple cardholders in District 4, collecting receipts and reconciling bank statements. Maintains required files for auditing by internal and external auditors. Handles requests from the public, both in person at the office or by phone; handles incoming calls and forwards to proper person or office. Processes Fuel Receipts, Mileage Logs, Fuel Exception Reports and other vehicle related paperwork for traffic engineering and assists county offices with this type of work. Performs other related duties as assigned.
A high school diploma and six (6) months of work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. Relevant experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.
