Full Description

Under general supervision the ideal candidate will performs professional accounting duties in the creation and maintenance of state and federal accounting records.
You will:
  • Processes all accounts payable transactions, to include check and invoices request for payment submission
  • Generate internal and external financial reports
  • Be responsible for reviewing check requests, invoices, and payment for appropriate coding, approvals, and supporting documentation.
  • Verify and processes all travel requests.
  • Post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records (i.e., processes journal entries).
  • Prepare analysis of accounts.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
  • Research/Resolve invoice and funding discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Assist with monthly reconciliations and year-end closings.
  • Provide supporting documentation for audits.
  • Maintain funding sources and ensures changes are updated accurately for payroll.
  • Serve as backup to the accounting manager and senior acct-analyst to assists with special projects as needed.
  • Assist with scanning fiscal documents for finance division throughout the year.
  • Attend meetings, workshops, and conferences and performs other related duties as necessary

  • Bachelor’s degree w/15 semester hours of accounting courses
  • Working knowledge of South Carolina Enterprise Information Systems (SCEIS)
  • Working knowledge of accounts payable processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detailed oriented and capable of working independently as well as with a team
  • Valid SC driver’s license
