Full Description
Under general supervision the ideal candidate will performs professional accounting duties in the creation and maintenance of state and federal accounting records.
You will:
- Processes all accounts payable transactions, to include check and invoices request for payment submission
- Generate internal and external financial reports
- Be responsible for reviewing check requests, invoices, and payment for appropriate coding, approvals, and supporting documentation.
- Verify and processes all travel requests.
- Post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records (i.e., processes journal entries).
- Prepare analysis of accounts.
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
- Research/Resolve invoice and funding discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Assist with monthly reconciliations and year-end closings.
- Provide supporting documentation for audits.
- Maintain funding sources and ensures changes are updated accurately for payroll.
- Serve as backup to the accounting manager and senior acct-analyst to assists with special projects as needed.
- Assist with scanning fiscal documents for finance division throughout the year.
- Attend meetings, workshops, and conferences and performs other related duties as necessary
- Bachelor’s degree w/15 semester hours of accounting courses
- Working knowledge of South Carolina Enterprise Information Systems (SCEIS)
- Working knowledge of accounts payable processes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detailed oriented and capable of working independently as well as with a team
- Valid SC driver’s license
