The Accounting Manager Opportunity
As a full-time member of our team, you will play a key role supporting our mission to ensure the availability of critical field data that accelerates conservation and climate solutions. We are looking for a well-organized and talented individual who will manage our reporting, compliance, and day-to-day operations to ensure the scaffolding is in place for our organization to thrive.
We anticipate the role being 75% accounting, 15% operations, 10% office management.
This individual will report to the Senior Executive Administrator.
Key Responsibilities
● Oversee payroll, expense reporting, employee reimbursements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly closes, indirect cost allocations, annual taxes, audits and all other financial needs.
● Facilitate the annual budgeting and continuous forecasting in partnership with the
Executive Director
● Maintain annual filings and to ensure our nonprofit remains in compliance with state and federal regulations.
● Responsible for contract procurement as it relates to staff retreats, office management, board meetings.
● Draft and maintain contracts, agreements, MOUs, and other documents to ensure clarity and efficiency with partners, vendors, creditors, and contractors.
● Maintain the office supplies and infrastructure and ensure a happy working environment for our local staff.
We are looking for
● An experienced Accounting Manager with an understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and QuickBooks expertise. You love working in spreadsheets and numbers excite you. You have wrangled a team to submit expense reports and are able to create financial reports for people who don’t love numbers.
● A self-starter who is highly organized and can thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You can juggle many tasks at any given time and are able to handle logistics for company events and outings with ease.
● A data-organizer who has experience maintaining digital file structures and feels joy when thinking about improving our file structures, workflows, and systems.
● An environmentally minded individual who is excited to utilize their operational and/or financial knowledge to further a conservation nonprofit.

Location and Compensation
This is a full-time position that will be based at our office in Bozeman, MT, with up to two days of remote work per week. This position will be expected to occasionally travel, work on weekends or at night.
Salary for this role ranges from $72,000 - $82,000 dependent on experience.
