The Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH) seeks a Fatality Review Coordinator and Disaster Services Planner.

Responsibilities: This position is responsible for administrative oversight and coordination of the DMH Fatality Review Panel (FRP) and attendant trainings and other activities related to the death review process for DMH consumers. In addition to facilitating meetings, webinars and other events, this position is responsible for providing trainings and technical assistance regarding preventable deaths and the DMH death review process to DMH staff, contracted providers, and other community stakeholders. This position is also responsible for assisting the DMH Office of Disaster Services with disaster planning activities including: drafting emergency, continuity of operations, all hazard and other plans for DMH facilities and offices to comply with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Joint Commission, and other regulatory requirements; attending disaster planning meetings, trainings, and exercises; and providing plan writing trainings, reviews, and technical assistance to DMH facilities and offices and contracted providers.


Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 15 earned credit hours in one or a combination of the following: Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Counseling, Pharmacology, Nursing, Education, Business, Emergency Management, Public or Health Care Administration, or a closely related field; and,


Two or more years of professional experience in mental health, education, social services, public administration, emergency management, or a closely related area.


Work hours and travel:

Working hours: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Possible remote work options or flexible work schedule are available.

Some statewide travel is required and may include overnights.

Salary $60,000 to $75,000 annually, commensurate with education and experience.
