Summary of Work
Determine eligibility of applicants for economic assistance; Interview applicants to gather information and determine individual needs; Inform applicants of available services and/or economic assistance; Analyze applicant information and perform accepted procedures for verification of data; Input data to appropriate computerized systems; Authorize expenditure of funds to eligible recipients; Provide on-going maintenance and eligibility determination of an assigned caseload; Complete administrative communications, reports, and records-keeping relating to assigned caseload.
Minimum Qualifications
Eligibility Worker I
Requires the qualifications as listed below for the "Eligibility Worker Technician" level, plus one year of work experience determining eligibility for human services economic assistance programs including TANF, SNAP, Foster Care, Medicaid, or LIHEAP; or completion of the eligibility worker two-year associate degree program.
Eligibility Worker Technician
If unable to fill as an Eligibility Worker I, we will consider filling as an Eligibility Worker Technician which requires one of the following:
- Completion of the eligibility worker one-year certificate program.
- Completion of 90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours of a bachelor's degree program.
- Graduation from high school or GED, and three years of work experience involving processing of claims, loans, financial eligibility benefits, credit reviews, abstracts, taxes, housing assistance, or work experience in the clerical, accounting, bookkeeping, legal, financial, business, teaching, investments, financial planning, or computer/data processing fields.
- Three years of any combination of education and experience listed above.
Additional Requirements:
- Candidates must successfully complete Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) criminal history record check and fingerprinting.
