The Crime Research Analyst position retrieves various data from multiple resources to provide data, including calculations if needed, and related graphics for various reports for the entire police department on a regular basis. This position will create and document analysis to assist in the management and decision-making process of the Police Department. Additionally, upon request, this position will provide documentation in multiple ways for the command staff and the Chief to present to public entities.

Qualifications and Requirements


Experience, Education, and Training

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's in Public or Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistical Research, Criminology, or directly related discipline;
OR
  • At least four years experience in criminal justice planning or law enforcement as a research specialist, crime analyst or administrative support staff within a large law enforcement or public safety agency.
Miscellaneous Requirements
Incumbent must possess a valid Driver's License in order to operate a vehicle for the purpose of completing job duties. May be required to work evenings and other varied hours on an as needed basis. Must be able to pass a security background investigation.
