THE POSITION

If you are a dedicated individual who has a positive attitude, is organized, and pays attention to details, as well as having a strong interest in clerical work, this may be the position for you! The Department of Transportation is seeking a qualified candidate to provide clerical support.


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Under the direction of the Chief Clerk, a person in this position performs a variety of clerical support functions for the Adams County Maintenance District. You will receive crew and individual payrolls for field personnel. You will review for completeness and math accuracy. Obtain any additional information needed and inputs data for pay processing. You will make necessary payroll adjustments as needed. SAP: Error reports, Duplication Report, Time Evaluation Report, Time Transfer Report & Cumulative Time Report.

You will maintain leave accrual and usage records for all employees. You will verify types of leave requested and reported on payrolls and resolves discrepancies. You will also notify appropriate supervisors of overdrawn or excess leave situations as needed. You will ensure required documentation for leave usage is provided and maintained. You will prepare and processes required leave adjustment actions.

You will prepare weekly list showing who is on leave to help Assistants plan projects.

You will print Alternate Work Schedule (AWS) schedules for Managers. Ensures the proper usage of leave. Keeps track of AWS/Holiday hours. Submits requests to change AWS days.

You will also serves as SPF (sick paid family) liaison by communicating and sending documents to SPF coordinator. You will enter employee's leave in ESS.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirement:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
