AIRPORT FACILITIES SUPERVISOR

Aviation & Transportation Department – Portland International Jetport -

This is a challenging position in the dynamic and fast-paced environment of Portland’s busy and growing small hub commercial airport. This position supervises and directs airport facilities staff in the upkeep and maintenance of all airport landside facilities including the terminal building, parking structures, parking lots, roadways, and associated systems and equipment.

Requirements: Considerable lead or supervisory experience in large commercial building or industrial complex maintenance, operation, repair, or any equivalent combination of experience and training; knowledge of safety requirements and procedures, ability to plan, supervise and evaluate the work of subordinates; valid Maine State Class C license; successful completion of TSA background investigation per TSR part 1542.

Job duties include: Scheduling, inspecting, teaching, leading, and overseeing a team of Airport Facilities staff; inspecting and coordinating all landside maintenance with facilities, Operations Center, airport maintenance, airlines and supplier/contractors as required for baggage handling systems, passenger boarding bridges, automated fire shutters and doors, elevators, emergency generators, lighting systems, fire alarms, sprinkler systems, energy management systems, HVAC systems, plumbing systems, security system, computer-based information systems, PA system, and all other associated landside buildings systems and equipment. They will use technology to assist in the accountability of work performance and continuing education. We are looking for a supportive, team-oriented individual who is capable of performing tasks both as a group member and autonomously. Offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory criminal background check.

The schedule is Tuesday-Saturday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

AFSCME Supervisors Union position – Grade 27A - Pay rate starting at $1,050/week, with a 3% COLA in July, 2023. Generous benefits package.
