NORTH DAKOTA STATE HOSPITAL

Office Assistant III - (Admissions/Switchboard)

Hiring Range: $2,360 - $4,247 per Month DOE

Hours: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm rotating Weekends and Holidays

3:00 pm - 11:00 pm & 11:00 pm- 7:00 am rotating shifts, includes Weekends and Holidays

This position completes the admission process of all individuals admitted to the North Dakota State Hospital in a manner that respects their rights while obtaining the needed information to identify them and to assist in the beginning of their care and treatment. Documents and communicates client movements, inventories, records, stores, and distributes clients’ property/valuables. Greets, assists, and directs all visitors in a friendly manner. Switchboard communications include answering, screening, and transferring all incoming calls to the proper extensions or paging staff while using a multi-line phone system. Incumbent will need to be proficient in general office duties and have good computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or GED and two years of office support, clerical, or secretarial work experience. Coursework in a vocational office support or closely related program may substitute for the work experience requirement on a year-for-year basis if it provided the knowledge and skills required to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
