Position Description:


Supports strategic policy and advocacy plan that aligns to Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona's (GCNA) and Goodwill Industries of Monocacy Valley's (GIMV) (together, "the organization") strategies and operational objectives. Develops and fosters relationships with federal, state, and local government officials. Additionally, represents the organization and its priorities with commerce and community partners.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Financial – Sustains growth through financial stewardship & fiscal responsibility.


Monitors and supports current projects and work assignments; tracks and ensures awareness of priorities, milestones, and progress towards deliverables.

Identifies and recommends cost savings opportunities where possible.

Manages memberships, invoices, and other expenses and maintains ongoing expenditure reports.

Contributes to solving unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business.

Customer & Community – Collaborates with customers to understand and deliver customer's needs & expectations.


Maintains a deep understanding of the political and public policy landscape as it affects the organization. This includes monitoring of new and emerging policy developments that may impact the organization’s objectives.

In collaboration with the Director of Government Relations, manages and coordinates efforts with contract lobbying groups.

Maintains person of interest bios and legislative/policy summaries.

Exercises sounds judgment while interacting and communicating with high-level partners, elected officials, and community stakeholders.

Participates in various external meetings/events, including policy discussions, community meetings, and chamber of commerce events representing the interest of the organization.

Operational Excellence – Implements strategies to maximize resources and infrastructure.


Identifies and manages effective coalitions of diverse partners to advance the organization’s mission.

Contributes to developing and executing strategic plans and programs that comprehensively address current and future business and regulatory needs, challenges, and opportunities for the organization.

Handles confidential information frequently and appropriately.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):


Associates Degree or equivalent work experience preferred

Strong planning skills, ability to manage tasks, and follow-through

Proficient in MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Valid drivers’ license and clean MVR

Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position
