This position is a full-time position at the Michael J. Fitzmaurice South Dakota Veterans Home and requires a dedication and commitment to "Caring for America's Heroes". This position is a valued member of the Physical Plant Department will require an individual to repair / paint walls, perform routine maintenance, operate grounds keeping equipment in all types of weather, perform and maintain high levels of cleanliness throughout the building consisting of resident rooms, restrooms, and public areas.

Ability to lift 50lbs, standing, bending, reaching for long periods of time.

Licenses and Certifications:

May be required to possess or have the ability to obtain a valid driver license.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• a minimum of two years related work experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• knowledge of Environmental Services in a healthcare environment;
• organizational skills in order to multi-task and manage multiple tasks;
• effectively communicate with residents, other staff, and team members as required;
• communicate information;
• ability to operate machinery, mowers, snow blowers, floor cleaning equipment, etc.;
• ability to learn new skills that are required for successfully completing the assigned tasks;
• ability to adapt to the ever-changing duties as they are assigned.
