Position Opening Equipment Technician Located in Belleville, Clara Maass Medical Center is a facility of RWJBarnabas Health and provides a complete continuum of care to residents of northern New Jersey. In 2018, the Medical Center earned designation in LGBTQ Healthcare Equality from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. We are currently looking for an Equipment Technician for the Operating Room. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Equipment Tech is responsible for the preparation, set-up, troubleshooting and coordination of services and repair for all clinical equipment in the Operating Room. Participates in the care, preparation and maintenance of equipment and supplies in the OR. Participates in the set-up, opening and breakdown of a case in the OR You Will Be Responsible For: Demonstrates correct and safe technique in the use of surgical equipment according to the specific product information and the Medical Center s policies and procedures/ Maintains full knowledge of surgical equipment and associated accessories used in the Operating Room. Troubleshoots and corrects operational and configuration problems associated with surgical video equipment and associated accessories. Assists in the assembling of equipment and supplies in preparation for various operative procedures performed by physicians or nurses. Cleans and returns equipment as necessary. Performs user maintenance on the majority of equipment used in the OR: i.e. maintains wheels, hinges, hardware, replaces filters, checks condition of hoses, cords, cuffs, fiber optic cables and bulbs. Ensures that the proper supplies and accessories relevant to each surgical case are available at all times. Demonstrates the 4 C s of Commitment, Compassion, Competence and Communication.
