The Consultant, Corporate Partnerships will build and maintain large-scale corporate partnerships of the highest mutual value for the companies and Ohio State, with a focus on transformational partnerships of $5 million or more. Recognizes and initiates high-level opportunities to establish master research agreements, generate sponsored research projects, new grant opportunities, affinity/business opportunities, workforce development initiatives, and talent and experiential learning efforts. Develops strong relationships with faculty and research leaders to identify areas of opportunity to build corporate support. Serves as a consultant to corporate partners by collaborating to understand their investments, industry driven needs, and strategic direction, offering solutions that leverage Ohio State’s strengths, represent their individual needs, and add value to their business and the university. Understands the corporate partners’ goals, strategies, and processes, and proposes opportunities to add value beyond the partner’s immediate requests. Identifies, plans, and implements strategic, holistic engagements with key corporate partners. Initiates and maintains key strategic relationships and partnerships. Partners with Senior Director, Corporate Partnerships and Associate Vice President, Corporate Partnerships in development of long and short-term goals, strategic plan, and annual business planning efforts. Regularly summarizes progress, status and conveys through written and verbal means to keep the team updated. Continually evaluates efforts and optimizes for success. Builds and maintains strong internal and external networks to drive innovation processes and interdisciplinary collaboration, ensure mutual value and cultivate long-term relationships.

50%: Builds and maintains large-scale corporate partnerships of the highest mutual value for the companies and Ohio State, with a focus on transformational partnerships of $5 million or more. 10%: Partners with Senior Director, Corporate Partnerships and Associate Vice President, Corporate Partnerships in development of long and short-term goals, strategic plan, and annual business planning efforts. Work Experience Required:
6-8 years of in corporate relations, business development or industry-university research; proven ability to establish and achieve business development goals. Metrics and results driven. At least five years of new prospect development of complex alliances between academic, public, and private sector sponsors and partners; experience identifying, assessing , and resolving public-private partnerships, sponsored research, and technology deployment challenges and opportunities in higher education; ability to work effectively and collaboratively toward goals in a complex, diverse environment with multiple and changing demands; deals well with ambiguity and paradox; ability to develop strong relationships and work with senior-level administration, faculty, and staff to reach collaborative, outcome driven solutions; possesses outstanding verbal, written and visual communications skills.

Work Experience Desired:
8-12 years of in corporate relations, business development or industry-university research.

The target hiring range for this position is $110,000 - $123,000.
