We are seeking a skilled a Global Trade Specialist to join our team! The ideal candidate will be familiar with both export and import regulations. The position requires both a high-level understanding of the products and an intimate knowledge of the regulations surrounding their export and import.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Working under/within the following U.S. Regulations; Export Administration Regulation (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) and HTS

  • Perform most sophisticated Jurisdiction and Classification (J/C) analysis and validation (resolution of JC escalation, supplier issues, etc.)

  • Perform HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) classifications.

  • Support investigations and reviews of possible export and import compliance escapes and disclosures.

  • Analyze business needs (including technology needs) with respect to export authorization requirements

  • Support development and delivery of formal and informal Jurisdiction and Classification (J/C) and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) focal training.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineering and/or technical background

  • Experience with classifications under the World Customs Organization (WCO) Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)

  • Experience with US Export (classification) Regulations; specifically, the EAR and the Commerce Control List (CCL), ITAR and the United States Munitions List (USML)

  • 1 - 2 years working with Global Trade and related export classification matters

  • Experience with Collins/RTX current trade compliance related processes (classifications, authorizations, logging, compliant transfer modes, record keeping, etc.) and Collins specific Global Trade related systems (GTS, OCR, MKDenial, xClass, TEXPORT) is a plus.
